The Quarry

0, Jaén

There aren't too many tracks and some of the older ones are old-fashioned, but the slightly collapsed orange wall, which is of good quality, offers itineraries with many holes and strips. This is a sports climbing school, where most of the fixings are reliable. The characteristics of these walls make the routes explosive. The rock is limestone. The maximum height of the walls is 15 metres. It is a good bouldering area, sometimes very powerful.

For water, food and accommodation you can take advantage of the city of Jaén, next to which this climbing area is located.

Notes and warnings: The estate is an olive grove, so it is not advisable to get the vehicles too close to the walls. You should also park in places that do not interrupt the passage.

How to get there: From Jaén city, take the Los Villares road (C-3221). At the second kilometre, there is a small lane on the right that leads directly to the area in a few metres. In Jaén this area is known as the Fuente de la Peña, an old washing place on the outskirts of the city. The escarpments go from there to the quarry.
