A pretty village in the Sierra de Segura, entirely located within the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park. Nearby is the Tranco de Beas reservoir and the valley where the Guadalquivir river begins.
Various hamlets are spread across the municipal area of Hornos: Cañada Morales, La Capellanía, El Carrascal, Fuente de la Higuera, Guadabraz, Hornos El Viejo, El Majal, La Platera, El Tovar, El Tranco and La Venta. Some of them are found in beautiful hidden places, such as La Platera or La Capellanía, and others are more vibrant, such as Cañada Morales or El Tranco. The rest are markedly agricultural communities, where peace and tranquillity are guaranteed, with some high-quality rural houses and facilities for tourists.

The municipal area is predominantly forest, with pines occupying around 80% of the land.
The village itself is striking, being situated on a tall cliff, and its medieval character gives it a special charm. In 1985, it was declared a Historical Artistic Asset.
The local economy revolves around tourism, forestry and olives, but hunting and fishing are also very important.
Its rich heritage includes the castle, the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción (Church of Our Lady and the Assumption), the Castle of Bujaraiza, the Puerta de la Villa (Doorway to the Village), El Mirador del Aguilón (Viewpoint) and la Torre de Bujarcaiz (Tower of Bujarcaiz).
