Program

The pilgrimage takes place around the hermitage of the patron, located about 5 kilometers from Navas de San Juan. Declared of national tourist interest, the events begin already on April 30, with a floral offering to the banner of the Virgin and solemn mass.

May 1 begins with a target and the authorities leave the town hall for the sanctuary of La Virgen de La Estrella. All follow the standard in a procession, with floats and pilgrims on horseback, dressed in Andalusian costumes. A solemn mass is celebrated in the sanctuary. This day various performances are held in the auditorium of the sanctuary.

On May 2 the authorities leave the town hall again, to go to the sanctuary, after the religious acts and the festival, the patron saint of Navas de San Juan is carried from the sanctuary to the monolith that commemorates her appearance to the peasant Juan, in the XII century.

On May 3, after mass in the sanctuary, La Virgen de La Estrella is returned to the Parish. The image is received with rose petals and it is the most exciting moment of the pilgrimage in honor of La Virgen de La Estrella in Navas de San Juan. At night there is a big party and fireworks.
