Every April 25, the patronal feast in honor of San Marcos is celebrated in Hinojares. To celebrate it, the saint is taken out in procession and the typical blessed cakes of San Marcos are distributed, round sweets with edged edges.

The holy evangelist is processed with a cake on his left arm, a representation of the many that at the end of the religious ceremony are distributed among locals and strangers, as an old and ancestral rite of communal charity, and which are paid for by the municipal treasury. Until half a century ago it was customary for the Patron Saint not to procession only through the streets of Hinojares, accompanied by the image of San Blas.
